For many years I have been on blood thinners due to AFib. I had asked about the Watchman, but was frightened by the thought of how it had to be inserted into my heart. My cardiologest referred me to Dr. Desai for a consultation. His nurse, Heather Drew, was first to speak with my wife and I at the meeting. She answered questions and spoke with us, not at us. Dr. Desai walked into the room and my wife and I instantly relxed. He didn't make wild promises, he explained what the Watchman was and how it would benefit my health. We decided after he briefed us that I wa confident in his abilities. The day before yesterday I arrived at the Sierra Medical Center for the proceedure. The staff there were exceptional! I have had to spend extended periods in hospitals during COVID and the staff there were, how to put it, fun! Most of all I was treated with respect, that relieved any anxiety that I had. Dr. Desai spoke with me prior to the procedure and checked on me when I woke up. He treated both my wife and daughter with respect and clearly explained what I would be experencing. His nurse spent time with my family members on how the watchman was placed and the restrictions I had to adhear to during my recovery. Anyone considering this procedure in the Northern Nevada area I highly recommend Dr. Desai and his team of specialist! You could not be in better hands!
